Sugar Pine Creamery makes Top 25 Ice Cream Spots in Texas list

National Ice Cream Day is this Sunday, and one of Plano’s own has made the list of Top 25 Ice Cream Spots in Texas.

Yelp identified all ice cream businesses on Yelp in Texas, then ranked them according to volume and ratings of reviews in the past year.

Plano’s own Sugar Pine Creamery came in at number 6 in the state. The creamery has five stars on Yelp with 182 reviews. And no wonder it is so high on the list – the reviews are raving.

My favorite ice cream place of all time!!! It’s really hard to explain how special this place is to me but I’d like to say the owner is like a mad scientist. The flavors she makes are out of this world. She turns normal desserts somehow into soft-served ice cream. And most of all, she is extremely nice, always welcoming, and loves to explain what she has for the week. Flavors change every two weeks so I’m always coming back excited to see what new creations are available,” one reviewer said.

The soft-serve menu boasts “Pick A Cup” or “Pick A Cone” options, with a combination of Eastern and Western flavors that change weekly. This week’s menu, ending on Sunday, includes dairy-free watermelon sangria, dairy-free mango peach, pineapple buttermilk, butterscotch mascarpone, Hong Kong coffee milk tea, and lavender white chocolate.

For those not looking for ice cream, Sugar Pine Creamery also sells milk tea with boba in flavors like Sugar Pine, black sugar, hazelnut, salted caramel, honeydew, Thai tea, taro and rose or flavored ice tea with boba in flavors such as lychee, peach, mango, strawberry, wintermelon, passion fruit, kumquat, red guava, green apple and pineapple.

Sugar Pine Creamery joins DFW creameries Botolino Gelato Artigianale, Pure Milk and Honey, Picole Pops, Sugar Crush Boba & Ice Cream, Sweet Firefly, Scoop N’ Buns, and Tongue In Cheek Ice Cream on the list.
