Black Rifle Coffee Company opened Dec. 31 at 901 North Central Expressway.  The newly constructed building is on a spot of land formerly occupied by TGI Friday’s.  The coffee shop is currently open for dine-in and take-out customers.  A drive-through window will also open in the coming months.

This is the San Antonio-based chain’s third North Texas location and seventeenth across the country. The company was founded by veterans, and a percentage of every purchase goes to support those in the service. The military theme is evident in the store’s unique appearance and merchandise offerings.

“The whole mission is to continue to support active-duty service members, veterans and first responders,” Retail Marketing Director Brandy Carlson says. “What makes us unique is our mission is coning with our dedication to premium coffee products.”

Black Rifle first gained a loyal following online through its coffee subscription service that began in 2014. In Oct. 2020, the company opened its flagship retail location in San Antonio.  It was the beginning of an aggressive expansion plan. Over the past two years, new shops have sprouted up in Texas, Tennessee and Florida. While specific locations have yet to be announced, several more North Texas outposts are expected to open in 2022 and 2023.

An official grand opening and flag-raising ceremony for the Plano location will be announced soon.  As part of the celebration, the company will announce community give-back initiatives aimed at supporting local veterans and first-responders.

“We’re not just company. We’re a community of people who love the country and support the men and women who serve,” Carlson says.
