UPDATE: The Dolly Llama’s grand opening was postponed due to construction issues, but will now be opening Saturday, July 1 at 12 p.m. The first 100 guests will still receive free swag.
The Dolly Llama, an ice cream and waffle confectionary, is opening its second Dallas-area shop in the Preston Creek Shopping Center later this month.
The Dolly Llama serves up ‘Express’ Waffles, with topping choices like Nutella strawberries, maple syrup Speculoos crumbs, chocolate syrup banana or peanut butter cinnamon crunch. ‘Signature Waffles’ come in waffle cone-esque ice cream and topping pairings called “Bubbles” or ice cream and toppings on a regular waffle called “OG Liege.” Other options include shakes, by-the-scoop options, or build-your-own combinations.
Plano’s location will be operated by the franchisees and husband and wife duo Trenton and Joy Judson. The Judsons operate the only other location in Dallas at 2817 Howell St in Dallas proper.
“We are so thankful for the love from the Dallas locals in response to our first location. We have had such great success there that we couldn’t be more excited to continue spreading The Dolly Llama throughout the greater Dallas/Fort Worth communities,” said Judsons in a press release. “Plano is a family-oriented community, which makes it the ideal place for The Dolly Llama. With a party room and many seating options at this location, we look forward to becoming a destination for families and friends to gather and enjoy life’s sweet treats – waffles & ice cream. And, we simply can’t wait to meet everyone at our Plano Grand Opening on May 27.”
The Dolly Llama Plano location opens at 12 p.m. on May 27. The first 100 guests will receive free branded merchandise and raffles with store gift card prizes will run all day.
“Plano is the perfect place for a hip and innovative dessert shop such as The Dolly Llama because the area is family friendly, yet will be seeing major expansion with the new Universal Studios slated to open in 2026,” The Dolly Lama co-founder Eric Shomof said. “I have truly enjoyed working with Trenton and Joy over the past year, since they opened the first Dallas franchise, and I have no doubt they will continue to bring in the crowds in Plano.”
The dessert shop will be open Sunday through Thursday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. at 8400 Preston Rd #150 within in the Preston Creek Shopping Center.
