Electric scooters from Bird are now available to ride in Plano. The scooters can be found around town by using the Bird app.

Bird was brought to Plano through the city’s Bike & Scooter Share Program, which allows for new mobility choices in Plano.

Bird scooters have a maximum speed of 15 mph and can be taken on streets with speed limits of 35 mph or less, according to a June 7 release from the city. Riders are also allowed on most sidewalks in Plano. Through the app, riders are charged by the minute for using the scooters.

Other regulations apply to the scooters: they cannot be parked in a pedestrian pathway or blocking a driveway; and riders must be 18 years-old; and share companies are required to reposition their scooters every night. Wearing a helmet is also encouraged while riding Bird scooters.

A how-to on getting set up and finding scooters can be found here. Bird can also be reached at 1-866-205-2442 or hello@bird.co.
