Plano moving company partners with local domestic violence centers ahead of Mother’s Day

Donations will benefit Hopes Door New Beginnings and other organizations benefitting domestic violence survivors.

Two Men and a Truck‘s DFW locations are hosting a “Movers for Moms” collection drive to benefit Plano’s Hopes Door New Beginning Center and other area nonprofits that benefit victims of domestic violence in anticipation of Mother’s Day.

Heartbreaking statistics from the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence state that on average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States, Two Men and a Truck said in a news release. This equates to nearly 1 in 4 women being victims of some sort of physical violence.
Last year, the moving company collected more than 10,000 essential items, and the group is looking to double their donation to 20,000 items this year. Items in need can be found on the Movers for Moms Amazon Wishlist.
Those willing to donate in Plano can do so at Two Men and a Truck Plano at 620 Haggard Street, Windhaven Academy at 5900 Communications Parkway or Sonesta Suites Plano at 4701 Legacy Drive.
