Fort Worth couple Stephanie Dennis and Darryl Woods recently had the wedding of their dreams in Plano, provided at no cost to them.
Wish Upon A Wedding, a nonprofit organization that grants weddings and vow renewals to couples facing serious illness or a life-altering circumstance, awarded the local couple a free wedding and reception, held on Nov. 11 at event1013 in Historic Downtown Plano. When Stephanie and Darryl had been dating for only four months, Stephanie was diagnosed with breast cancer. Darryl proposed a week before the start of her chemo treatment and never left her side during her treatment and care.

McKinney-based event planner, Shamica Sweat, who also teaches a certified Wedding and Event Planning Course at Collin College, was selected by Wish Upon a Wedding to provide the wedding planning services. Shamica pulled together a skilled team to provide a memorable experience for the couple.
