If you haven’t stopped by the Downtown Plano Arts District in a while, this is the year to check it out. The Historic Downtown Plano Association (HDPA) has released its event schedule for 2018. Detailed information will be released prior to each event, but go ahead and mark your calendars now.
March 2
Chips 5th Annual Charity Poker Tournament
This Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament is the Historic Downtown Plano Association’s annual fundraising event. The evening includes raffle prizes, small bites and beverages, and a last-man-standing poker tournament.
April-December, second Thursday of the month
Downtown Plano Art & Wine Walk presented by Plano Magazine
Attendees get an early start to the weekend by sipping samples of selected wines at participating shops and businesses, while enjoying live music, curated art exhibitions, and special discounts.
April 27-28
Plano Artfest
Plano Artfest is a free community event that is built around artistic inclusiveness, creative curiosities, and cultural connection.
This annual event includes a week of community art programming that ends with a two-day festival in the Downtown Plano Arts District.
June 3
Night Out on 15th
Night Out on 15th Street is a community dining experience where guests can eat a meal with friends as they are surrounded by the historic beauty of the arts district. The event features a 300-foot-long table down the middle of 15th Street, where arts district chefs prepare a culinary tasting paired with select beer, wine, and spirits.
June-August, last Saturday of the month
Movies in the Park
From June through August, families head to Haggard Park in Downtown Plano on the last Saturday of every month to watch their favorite summer blockbusters. Costume contests and other themed activities take place before the movie begins, while snacks are also available for purchase.
October 20-21
Steinfest
Steinfest is an Oktoberfest-style event hosted by the Historic Downtown Plano Association that celebrates outstanding beer, great food and the right kind of polka music to get you and your friends dancing in the street. The event includes the finest beer, German-inspired cuisine, live music, an artist village of craftsman and makers, a wiener dog fashion show, keg bowling, a kid’s zone and a VIP beer garden.
