July is Park and Recreation Month, and Plano is joining the celebration with a full lineup of ways to enjoy the outdoors and connect with the community. This year’s theme, Build Together, Play Together”, is all about the people, places and programs that make our city stronger and more vibrant.

Throughout the month, Plano Parks and Recreation is hosting a variety of free and low-cost activities for all ages. You can take part in events like Walk Around Plano, Play in the Park, and Sensory Days. It’s the perfect time to explore a new trail, cool off at a splash pad, or try a yoga class in the park.

To help you make the most of the month, there’s a full calendar of activities ready to explore. You can download it at plano.gov/park&recmonth.

“National Parks and Recreation Month is a wonderful opportunity for residents of Plano to celebrate and enjoy our city’s award-winning network of parks, trails, pools, and recreation centers,” said Ron Smith, Director of Plano Parks and Recreation.  “And in honor of the month, do something fun! Get out and enjoy the abundant assets and amenities that make Plano Parks and Recreation the number one park system in Texas.  And while you’re out there, take a moment to thank any of the many committed employees who care for these assets – all of which help make Plano the best places in America to live, work, and play.”

If you want to join the celebration online, share your favorite moments using the hashtag #BuildTogetherPlayTogether
