NTPA to host talent contest, open to public for ages 10 and up

Total prizes of $4,000 will be awarded to youth and adult winners, open to all talents 10 and up that reside in North Texas.

Come one, come all; North Texas Performing Arts is hosting North Texas’s Got Talent Youth & Adult Talent Contest with $4,000 in prizes to be won.

The contest is open to dancers, actors, magicians, musicians or other talents for individuals ages 10 and up residing in the North Texas region.

Contestants must submit a video audition that is two to three minutes in length. Entry fees are $20 per act for individuals and groups of fewer than four and $40 per act for groups of five or more.

The entry deadline is August 17. Five adult and five youth finalists will be selected to compete live in the Neiman Marcus Court at The Shops at Willow Bend on September 13.

All youth finalists will receive free tuition to an NTPA show, class or camp along with $500 for first place, $300 for second place and $200 for third place.

The adult finalists will receive $1,000 for first place along with the potential to be invited to perform at the NTPA Stardust Gala, $300 for second place and $200 for third place.

According to the NTPA website, acts will be judged on creativity, stage presence, technical skill, audience engagement and overall impression.
