Rep. Keith Self hosts fourth annual Congressional Art Competition

The winners will be recognized at an annual awards ceremony in Washington, D.C., where works are displayed for one year at the U.S. Capitol. 

Rep. Keith Self’s office hosted its fourth-annual Congressional Art Competition recently, where 68 high school students from across District 3.

This year’s judges included Brandon Adams from Greenville, Wendy McIntyre from Allen and Jennifer Seibert from Plano.

Seibert is a professor of art at Collin College and will have an exhibition at the ArtCentre of Plano from Saturday, May 9 to  Saturday, June 27.

“I’m incredibly impressed by the talent and creativity of our students in Texas District 3. The Congressional Art Competition is a highlight my team and I look forward to every year,” Self said. “Congratulations to all participants, and thank you to the students, teachers, parents, and judges who made this possible. I’m excited to display the winning artwork in my district offices and in the U.S. Capitol.”

The top four winners included Ameya Kohli – “For You” from Wylie High School,  Joe Studdard – “Eyes of Curiosity” from Allen High School,  Grace Dowtin – “To Build a Skyscraper” from Walnut Grove High School and Yeaseo Jeong – “Fragile Flowers” from Allen High School.

The winners will be recognized at an annual awards ceremony in Washington, D.C., where works are displayed for one year at the U.S. Capitol.
