Several Collin College athletes were honored this week by being named to the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference (NTJCAC) All-Academic Team, while the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and NTJCAC awarded conference and regional team honors in conjunction with the Region V tournament.
The Collin College women’s basketball team is headed to the NJCAA tournament for the second time in a row after winning the Region V tournament — the first time in the school’s history that the college has won a regional championship in basketball and the second time competing in the national championship tournament.
“This is a monumental achievement that showcases the team’s talent, resilience, and determination,” said Albert Tezeno, vice president of student and enrollment services and athletic director for Collin College.
