Conn’s HomePlus files for bankruptcy, posts going-out-of-business sale

All Conn's HomePlus locations are closing, with going-out-of-business sales including more than 50% off most merchandise.

Appliance retailer Conn’s HomePlus filed for bankruptcy earlier this year and is closing all locations, including the Plano location.

While the store originally announced that it would only be closing some of its stores in July, the Texas-based chain announced last week that all locations would close.

Conn’s HomePlus is joining other locations in having a going-out-of-business sale with 60% off bedding, up to 50% off electronics, up to 60% off appliances and up to 60% off furniture.

The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas approved Conn’s assets to go to auction in September, including the portfolio of outstanding Conn’s consumer installment loans. A sale hearing will take place on October 1, according to Furniture Today. Those with outstanding balances on Conn’s financed and credit card purchases should continue making payments while the auction and sale continue.

Conn’s HomePlus Plano is located at 800 W 15th St. near the Collin Creek Mall.
