Heritage Farmstead to host “A Day at the Farm”

The Heritage Farmstead Museum will host a special “Day at the Farm” event from 10 a.m to 1 p.m. on June 21. Guests will be able to tour the farm and enjoy sheep shearing, tractor-driven hay rides, crafts, story time, games of the past, a variety of special demonstrations, and hands-on activities like feeding chickens.

“Take a step back in time with us, try your hand at stilts or spoon races, explore the farm and enjoy the many fun activities and presentations available at this event,” Farmstead Museum Executive Director M’Lou Hyttinen said

The event will also feature a demonstration by the Dallas Weavers Guild. Guests will have the opportunity to meet the farm’s new ducks and to milk Buttermilk, the farm’s interactive educational display milking cow.

Pre-purchased online tickets are $8 per child and $5 per adult. Tickets at the door are $10 per child and $5 for adults.

Event sponsor Credit Union of Texas will provide free lunch to all event guests via their Community Grill Food Truck. The lunch menu includes Angus hamburgers and cheeseburgers, 100 percent beef jumbo sausage dogs, assorted chips and bottled water.

This event is also sponsored in part by the City of Plano. The Heritage Farmstead Museum is located at 1900 West 15th Street in Plano. Registration for this event is available at https://www.heritagefarmstead.org/event-list/a-day-at-the-farm-10/ or by calling 972.881.0140.
