Healthgrades has released their list of top 250 hospitals in the nation for 2024, and Medical City Plano has made the list yet again.
In the annual rankings, hospitals are rated on overall clinical excellence based on Medicare medical claims, 31 condition and procedure groups and other available data. Healthgrades’ editorial staff also have another annual awards for specialties.
Medical City Plano ranked in the top 250 hospitals in the country. But that’s not the only chart they’re on this year. The hospital also received the Patient Safety Excellence Award, the Neurosciences Excellence Award, Pulmonary Care Excellence Award and on America’s 100 Best Hospitals for: critical care, gastrointestinal care, gastrointestinal surgery, orthopedic surgery, stroke care, surgical excellence, and vascular surgery.
“From quality processes and new technology to leadership commitment, this list recognizes our system’s dedication to high-quality, compassionate care,” says Allen Harrison, president of Medical City Healthcare. “Being named among the best hospitals in the country is why North Texans turn to Medical City Healthcare hospitals as the destination of choice for healthcare excellence.”
On specific metrics, the hospital ranked above national average in every care team metric, equal to the national average in patient ratings and shortly below national average in quietness and cleanliness based on patient reviews. In patient safety ratings, no events relating to foreign objects left in the body during a surgery or a procedure were found and all safety metrics were as or greater than expected except for repiratory failure following surgery.
