Believe it or not, it’s been five years since the Renaissance Dallas at Plano Legacy West Hotel opened. To celebrate the occasion, owner and developer Sam Moon Group threw a birthday party complete with live entertainment in the form of interactive human art, live music, craft cocktails, custom Western wear, Eastern art and more. The hotel also made a donation to Plano-based Minnie’s Food Pantry, a nonprofit that works to fight food insecurity. Guests donated food items as well.
“As much as the North Texas community has given to us with their continued patronage and support, we were honored to welcome Dr. Cheryl ‘Action’ Jackson, Founder of Minnie’s Food Pantry, to speak at the anniversary event and share the outstanding services provided to the community by the organization that has provided food assistance in Plano since 2008,” Director of Sales and Marketing John Klukan said.
Since opening, the hotel has hosted 2,550 meetings. More than 246,000 guests stayed there between Jan. 1, 2019, and this June. The hotel has also generated more than $9.4 million in revenue from wedding receptions and related celebrations.
“Five years flew by with the unexpected large world pandemic not too long after our grand opening. The hotel team persevered offering services above expectations and we couldn’t be prouder of the hotel’s five years of above class accomplishments that we are celebrating this year,” General Manager Patrick Miller said. “We have an incredible team that impresses every guest, customer, and vendor that we are able to welcome to our hotel. From weddings to conferences to every event in between, we have been pleased to ‘wow’ our patrons with art, amenities, and of course, stellar service.”
