North Texas Performing Arts (NTPA) recently announced the reception of four Broadway World Dallas Regional Awards for outstanding productions for its NTPA Repertory Theatre.

NTPA has officially won more of these awards than any other DFW theatre, according to a press release. This year’s awards are as follows:

  • Best Performer in a Musical – Sawyer Bell for his portrayal of Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar. Bell trained for over a decade in NTPA’s youth programs, performing in about fifty productions.
  • Best Supporting Performer in a Musical – Amanda Reid for her role as Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar. An NTPA Academy graduate and regular on NTPA youth stages, Amanda just starred in Broadway’s Hell’s Kitchen in the leading role of Ali.
  • Best Costume Design – Nick Mann, Robin Fuller, and Lisa Rodenbaugh for their collaboration creating historically authentic costumes bringing to life Imperial Russia and Paris.
  • Best Theatre for Young Audiences – Recognizing NTPA’s commitment to producing engaging and inspiring theatrical experiences for young audiences across the Dallas area.

“We are honored to have been selected to receive this recognition, and proud of our NTPA Repertory Theatre,” says NTPA Chief Executive Officer Darrell Rodenbaugh. “Our Repertory productions continue to bring incredible acting and directorial talent from across the DFW metroplex, and we are honored to bring these productions to our Plano stages.”

The Best of Broadway World Awards recognizes regional productions, touring shows and other performances across 19 categories.

“I am humbled by this recognition and so proud of our casts and crew in making this possible,” says NTPA Repertory Theatre Creative Director Nick Mann. “I am excited to continue to bring these great works to life, and can’t wait to share our upcoming season with our audiences.”

The 2025 Repertory season will feature titles like Into the Woods, Oklahoma, Footloose and Rocky Horror Show.
