Reservations open for DFW Restaurant Week

Four Plano restaurants are among the more than 80 establishments participating in this year’s DFW Restaurant Week. Mexican Bar Company, Bulla Gastrobar, Earl’s Kitchen & Bar and Moxie’s will all host meal specials between Aug. 8 and Sept. 4.  A portion of proceeds from them and other greater Dallas area restaurants will benefit the North Texas Food Bank. Restaurants closer to Fort Worth will donate a portion of their proceeds to the Lena Pope nonprofit benefitting local children.

“Over the past 25 years, DFW Restaurant Week has successfully raised nearly $11 million in charitable donations directly benefiting our community,” NTFB President and CEO Trisha Cunningham said in a release announcing the dates. “Diners can help celebrate this summer’s landmark anniversary knowing that each meal purchased in the greater Dallas area in turn helps NTFB to provide up to 147 meals for neighbors in need. Please join us by dining out and giving back throughout the campaign.”

This is the twenty-fifth anniversary of DFW Restaurant Week.  Many restaurants will offer special anniversary offerings.  Some are also beginning their specials early during the preview weekend between Aug. 4 and Aug. 7.

Reservations may be made via OpenTable or directly with restaurants.  Diners are reminded to mention DFW Restaurant Week and request the campaign menu to ensure that the charities receive their special donations.
