Update from KHYI on March 13, 2020: Out of an abundance of care and safety for our friends, family and fans, KHYI, the City of Plano, Deep Ellum Brewing Company, the Beretta Gallery, Lukas Nelson and all other Texas Music Revolution acts and sponsors have agreed to reschedule Texas Music Revolution to the weekend of August 1, 2020. All purchased tickets will be honored at the new date.
KHYI 95.3 The Range has released the lineup for its 24th annual Texas Music Revolution (TMR) music festival on March 20-21, 2020. The fest will take place at Plano’s Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve, its home for the past four years.
The Dallas-based radio station is a self-proclaimed “beacon of hope in the murky ocean of cheesy, generic, pseudo, so-called ‘Country’ music,” according to its website.
KHYI has planned a festival lineup that features nationally recognized Americana, country and folk musicians as well as up-and-comers.
Musician Lukas Nelson is headlining the two-day festival with a performance with his band Promise of the Real Saturday night.
“We are so excited to have Lukas, an artist who is both Texas music royalty and big enough to be featured at Stagecoach, Newport Folk Festival, New Orleans Jazz Fest, and more – not to mention his role in the movie ‘A Star Is Born,’” said KHYI General Manager Joshua Jones.
Singer/songwriter Nelson wrote several songs for the film’s soundtrack and served as vocal coach for Bradley Cooper. He’s been touring with his band Promise of the Real for a decade (and he’s Willie’s son, no big deal).
Also confirmed to perform at TMR 24 are Ray Wylie Hubbard, Eleven Hundred Springs, Walt Wilkins, Ottoman Turks, Radney Foster, Joshua Ray Walker, Squeezebox Bandits and 40 Acre Mule.
There’s also the chance for a local band to apply to play at the festival and be considered for rotation on radio station 95.3. Interested artists must have a ReverbNation account. Apply here.
TMR will bring back bull riding between sets, which proved very popular last year. And this year organizers are upping the entertainment with a petting zoo and a Ferris wheel for all ages to enjoy.
Tickets for the Plano music festival start at $14.95 for a single evening and go up to $195.30 for two-day VIP tickets, which include upfront seating near the stage, VIP parking, VIP cash bar, VIP bathrooms and access to the Ferris wheel and petting zoo.
Plano Magazine readers receive a 15% discount on all tickets with promo code PLANOMAG.
