(ages 0-100)

The Annual Student Art Contest is one of DART’s most popular events, and this year’s theme is “My next stop is…” Students created dozens of works of art depicting the great adventures you can have on this rail system using conceptual thinking and problem solving skills. Come by Schimelpfenig Library throughout December to see more than 30 works on display, as well as the newly renovated library space!

The monthly Cook the Book meet-up is all about show stopping desserts this December, so bring all your skills and frills! Stop by Davis Library to browse their dessert cookbooks and choose a recipe to make. Bring your prepared dish on Tuesday, December 10 at 1 pm to share with others. Be prepared to discuss the baking process, as well as eat your weight in tasty sweets.

3. Fold and let fly during our paper airplane challenge

(ages 0-100, ticketed)

PPL’s final transportation-themed event of the season is the Paper Airplane Challenge! On Sunday, December 29 at 2 pm at Davis Library, you will learn how to build a variety of paper airplanes and helicopters, and see if they can survive the obstacle course. Whether a Glider, the Sprinter, the Buzz or a creation all your own, do you have what it takes to win?

5. Celebrate and break out of 2019

(ages 0-100)

For all ages: On Tuesday, December 31 at 11 am, PPL is celebrating NOON Year’s Eve! With a variety of hands-on activities and a countdown to noon, get your celebration in early, just in time for lunch and a nap. Parr and Haggard Libraries are both hosting Noon Year’s Eve.

For grades 4+: It’s 2019 and there is a rip in the space-time continuum! Tweens and teens in grades 4+ will search for clues and solve puzzles and riddles to unlock several boxes in search of a flash drive in order to “save the world.” If they are successful, they’ll save the world from being stuck in 2019 forever on Tuesday, December 31 at 2 pm at Davis Library.
