PREVIEW: Central Plano pop-up Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue

The experience walks players through interactive rooms in a storyline that has groups of up to 25 people working together to save villagers.

This morning, Plano Magazine staff went to check out the new Minecraft Experience, located in an old BuyBuy Baby space off of 75. A mix of seasoned players and “newbs,” none of us were sure of what to expect.

But since the attraction is starting its world tour in Plano, we wanted to be one of the first to check it out.

Whether you’re familiar with the game or not, it’s a pretty easy experience. Players are given interactive cubes and walked through a series of rooms where objects, the floor and the walls are all interactive screens, walking each group through a storyline to save villagers. Nearly every biome and creature is represented, and the doable for ages 6 and up, guides say.

The experience opens to the public on October 18, with available times selling out quickly. The experience is set to pack up for the next location on December 1.

Tickets are $32 on weekdays, $42 on weekends, $65 for VIP tickets and discount packages for large groups and families are available.

At the end of the experience, merchandise is available for purchase.
