This is no April Fool’s joke. On Tuesday, April 2, a car drove into an East Plano gym, Workout Anytime. And in the end, the car got away with barely a scratch, the driver kept his car membership and no injuries. Here’s what happened.

According to an interview that the gym owner did with Peopleat 6:18 a.m. on Tuesday, a customer parked in front of the gym and forgot to put his car in park. As the car began rolling toward the business, the owner hopped in his Buick Enclave to hit the brake, but instead hit the gas.

The gym owner, Jimmy Mak, told People that the vehicle “had a couple scratches on it, but the car was in good shape,” and that there was no injuries or structural damage, but “a lot of equipment was destroyed.”

In a WFAA video shortly after, gym-goers continued to workout despite police tape blocking off the area’s broken glass.

The gym posted a light-hearted video following the accident.

“We understand everyone likes to drink a little bit of caffeine before coming in for their workouts and we get very excited to come in and get our work done,” said Noah, a fitness director at Workout Anytime Plano East. “We just ask that you take the front door anytime you come into our facility. Feel free to use that door. It works great. No need to create your own entrance.”
