Collin College is hosting a free, public music series throughout November, with most performances taking place at the Plano campus.
Though free, reservations are recommended for musical performances at the John Anthony Theatre at the Plano Campus located at 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway.
Keyboard Ensemble
Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. in the John Anthony Theatre
The Keyboard Ensemble features performers whose main area of concentration is piano, with performances on Collin College’s two Steinway concert grands include duets and quartets by Bach, Mozart, Ravel and Schubert.
OneSound a Capella
Friday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. in the John Anthony Theatre
Student a Capella group OneSound will perform unique arrangements and choreography of current pop songs and hits from the past.
String and Symphonic Wind Ensembles
Tuesday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. in the John Anthony Theatre
The concert will feature classical and contemporary works for string orchestra and symphonic wind ensemble, featuring Collin College music major and non-music major students.
Guitar Ensemble
Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. in the John Anthony Theatre
Collin College’s One O’Clock Guitar Ensemble will perform a program of music from various historical periods.
Chamber Choir and Honors Voice Concert
Thursday, Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. in the John Anthony Theatre
Chamber Choir will perform choral music with a focus on rhythm. Repertoire includes fast familiar melodies as well as other works that use rhythm in clever ways, plus a performance of an original choral work by Director Kathy Morgan.
The Honor’s Voice portion of this program features elite vocalists from the vocal studios of Collin College performing operatic arias and art songs to showcase their accomplishments from the semester.
Jazz Combo PM, Jazz Combo Too and Jazz Lab Band
Saturday, Nov. 23 at 7 p.m. in the John Anthony Theatre
This concert will feature the Collin Jazz Combo PM, Jazz Combo Too and Jazz Lab Band, with works from multiple styles, including swing, bebop, fusion, Latin and popular music.
New Music Ensemble
Tuesday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. in the Living Legends Conference Center
The New Music Ensemble will present a concert of original works by Collin College student composers focusing on contemporary experimental music.
Solo Guitar
Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. in the Room C103
This guitar recital will feature students performing classical guitar solo works from the Renaissance to the present day.
