Good Union BBQ, a modern, fast-casual barbecue joint, has opened its second location at The Boardwalk at Granite Park in Plano. Its first location is at CityLine in Richardson.
Good Union’s menu offers barbecue classics, including smoked brisket, pulled pork shoulder, sticky pork spare ribs, glazed ham, burnt ends and pepper turkey. Side dish options include creamy coleslaw, classic mac and cheese, brown sugar beans and more. Also offered are breakfast tacos, sandwiches, frozen margaritas, a wide selection of beers and freshly made desserts.
The restaurant’s fans rave about the Pig Mountain, a sandwich stuffed with pulled pork, glazed ham, crispy bacon, link sausage, pickles and onions. Another favorite is the Train Wreck, a double burger with green chili queso, jalapeño pinto beans and blistered peppers.
“Good Union BBQ Boardwalk is perfect for people who love traditional Central Texas BBQ and for people who want killer burgers and salads topped with our smoked in-house meats,” said Mike Leatherwood, founder of the Plano restaurant. “We chose The Boardwalk because it’s a popular food destination and we love the energy of the space,” Mike added.
The restaurant has both indoor and patio seating to allow guests to get the full Boardwalk at Granite Park experience on the waterfront.
Good Union BBQ Boardwalk is celebrating a soft opening with plans to fully open the restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner on Aug. 5. Until then, the restaurant will maintain the following condensed dinner hours: Monday-Thursday from 4-9 p.m. and Friday-Saturday from 4-10 p.m.
