Milky Treats Ice Cream, also known as Heaven on earth for all those with a major sweet tooth, is opening up its first location on July 7 at 7000 Independence Pkwy, Ste 104D in Plano.
Owners Nico Nguyen, Karmen Lau and Trinity Nquyen recently decided to quit their corporate jobs and try something new. These childhood friends consider themselves part-time foodies who have a knack for trendy dessert concepts.
After traveling the East and West coast, one particular trend struck a cord with all of them – using cereal as a dessert topping.
“We think there’s something about cereal that brings back a happy and nostalgic feeling to all generations,” Nico Nguyen said. “So we decided one day during our lunch break that we would create an ice cream shop that was focused around everyone’s favorite childhood treat but wanted to make sure it was served in a modern, energetic and fun atmosphere.”
Milky Treats is the first ice cream shop in the Dallas area to use a custom aeronautic steel blender to infuse toppings and ice cream together. What difference does this blender make? Seriously intense flavor.
Milky Treats will offer cereal infused ice cream swirls, ice cream donut sandwiches and 15 unique flavors of handcrafted ice cream that rotate each month.
“Our goal was not only to create an ice cream shop but to also create an ice cream brand that was more relevant to the youth culture,” Nico said. “There are froyo shops for the younger generation and old fashion ice cream parlors for the older folks but there wasn’t really any modern ice cream shops for the generation in between. That is what inspired us to create Milky Treats.”
The soft opening for Milky Treats is July 6 from 7-9pm followed by the grand opening on July 7. Remember, all diets are welcome.
