Movies in the Park in Downtown Plano

Movies in the Park in downtown Plano's Haggard Park

The Historic Downtown Plano Association presents Movies in the Park, a new summer movie series in downtown Plano’s Haggard Park. Held on the last Saturday of each summer month, the movies are family-friendly and completely free. So bring a blanket or chairs, a picnic basket or to-go dinner from a nearby restaurant (no alcohol allowed) and Fido (as long as he’s leashed) and come enjoy the downtown Plano arts district with the entire family.

“We love our community of young families who live near downtown and wanted to provide them a free night of fun. I mean, who wouldn’t like to hang-out with Chewbacca for the evening?” says Alex Hargis, the Executive Director for the Historic Downtown Plano Association.

In addition to the film screenings, food trucks will be on site to sell refreshments. Attendees coming to Movies in the Park are encouraged to show their enthusiasm for the films. There will be a best-dressed costume contest for Star Wars and a fairy godmother commendation for all princesses at Cinderella.

June 25: Star Wars: The Force Awakens (PG-13)

July 30: Zootopia (PG)

Aug 27: Cinderella (PG)

All showings will begin at 8:00pm in Haggard Park and are free to the public.
