North Texas Performing Arts will present the Stardust Awards on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at the historic Southfork Ranch. The event will honor performing arts teachers, artists, philanthropists, and top-performing arts organizations across North Texas. The Emerald City Band’s Party Machine will provide entertainment.

“North Texas has such incredible performing arts talent and supporters that we want to provide a forum to celebrate individual and organizational accomplishments,” NTPA Chief Executive Officer Darrell Rodenbaugh says. “The NTPA Stardust Awards offer a unique opportunity for the public to participate in the nomination process and then join us in October to celebrate these incredible performers, philanthropists, volunteers and supporters of the performing arts.”

Doors will open for the event at 5:30 p.m. The evening’s program will feature excellent dining coupled with the awards program and dancing. Proceeds from the event will fund scholarships for underserved youth to attend  North Texas Performing Arts.

The public is invited to make nominations in ten different categories including teachers and directors eligible for Middle School, High School, Senior High, and Collegiate Performing Arts Distinguished Educators, in areas of theatre, dance, choir, orchestra, and other performing arts disciplines.  Nominations can also be submitted for “Distinguished Artists” in areas of dance, dramatic arts, music, voice and other disciplines. Other categories include “Distinguished Performing Arts Leadership” and “Distinguished Performing Arts Organization.”

Supporters of the performing arts will also be recognized with a “Distinguished Performing Arts Philanthropy” award and “Business Champion for the Performing Arts” for small and large businesses. There will also be multiple categories honoring volunteers who generously give their time and talent to regional non-profit performing arts groups.

An independent commission of civic leaders, local professionals and lovers of the arts will conduct the award selection process. The finalists and the honoree in each category will be recognized at this year’s gala event.

Members of the public can make their nominations and find additional information at ntpa.org/stardust.  The application deadline is May 31 with finalists and honorees to be announced in advance of the October 15 event.
