Plano student wins Fashion Group International Award

Fashion Group International of Dallas (FGI) proudly announces the winners of its 48th Annual Scholarship Competition held on Friday, April 15 at the Dallas Market Center. At the event, notable Dallas runway models strutted the highest-scoring designs from young teen and college-aged fashion students who dream of one day becoming the next Zac Posen or Stella McCartney.

Originally known as Career Day, FGI Dallas’ Scholarship Competition was originally conceived as a way to provide a philanthropic, educational outreach program for college and university students seeking careers in the fashion and lifestyle industries. This year, FGI Dallas and sponsors presented more than $30,000 in scholarship funds and prizes, as well as the opportunity to have their design and talent in front of leading industry professionals.

Kylie Crosby, a Plano East Senior High School student (shown above, to the left of her model), won the Teen Fashion Award presented by Wade College and Plano Profile Magazine.

The big winner of the evening was Seihak Long, from the University of Texas at Austin who won the Forty Five Ten Scholarship, presented by Brian Bolke and Forty Five Ten, and the Shelly Musselman Design award, sponsored by Meredith Musselman. Combined, this scholarship totals $15,000.
