Plano Parks and Rec creates Plano Youth Recreation Committee to give young people a voice

Plano Parks & Rec has created the Plano Youth Recreation Council to provide youth with leadership experience and receive input from the teens on park improvement.

Plano Parks and Recreation are seeking the wisdom of young minds with a new committee they’re calling Plano Youth Recreation Committee.

The committee will meet once a month during the school year at each recreation center to discuss the center’s needs and give the teens valuable leadership experience, a representative said in an email.

A video of one of these meetings, where students discuss updates to the recreation center and a desire to change dress code policies to allow Crocs, is posted on the City of Plano’s YouTube:
