Victoria Huynh has been working for the City of Plano and benefitting the department for her entire 27-year career.

The City of Plano appointed Victoria Huynh as the a new director of human resources and risk management this week.

Huynh started working for the City of Plano in 1997. Starting as a primary municipal court prosecutor, she worked her way up to the primary attorney on personnel matters for the city, where she worked from 2000-2011. In this role, her duties included reviewing/drafting disciplinary documents and ensured compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, Title VII, Workers’ Compensation Act and the Fair Labor Standards Act.  

In 2011, Huynh was promoted to deputy city attorney, serving as the primary attorney for employment related matters for the City, including advising the human resources department on a daily basis.

Huynh was also an International Municipal Lawyers Association Fellow and previously served on the board of directors for the Texas. City Attorneys Association.

Huynh will be taking the place of LaShon Ross, who moved from the position to Deputy City Manager in April 2023.
