On Nov. 28 at 6 p.m., a grand opening ceremony will be held for the new indoor pool at Carpenter Park Recreation Center, featuring one of North Texas’ only indoor/outdoor water slides. After the ceremony the public is invited to stay and swim for free.
In addition to the 21-foot slide, the new facility includes four lap lanes, a toddler zone with slide and spray features, a current channel (you know, that part your kids call the lazy river), ADA compliant pool access and a party room. Lockers and family restrooms are also available.

Construction on the 12,325-square-foot addition began in January 2017. Although Carpenter Park Recreation Center was Plano’s first recreation facility – opened since 1990 – it was the only one without a swimming pool, until now.
Open swim time is free with a recreation membership. Visitors can pay a daily fee of $6 for adults and $3 for children. Swimming hours are posted below, but may change as soon as January. Visit the Carpenter Park Recreation Center website for the most updated hours.
