Chase Oaks Local Good Center offering free ESL, first aid and Excel training

Looking to learn this summer? Chase Oaks Local Good Center is offering free English as a Second Language, first aid and Excel courses.

ESL classes are offered Tuesdays from June 15 through July 6. Conversation classes are from 9:30 to 11 a.m. and beginner level conversation classes are 6:30 to 8 p.m. You can register for the classes here.

The center is offering a CPR, AED and 911 training course led by the Plano Fire Department on June 17 from 10 a.m. to noon. The course focuses on a hands only CPR training, an overview of when and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED) and a “how to” 911 overview of when to use the service and what to expect on the call. Anyone 10 years or older can attend, but children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. The course is offered in English and Spanish. It is currently full, but you can join a waitlist here.

The center is offering free Microsoft Excel training July 19. Chase Oaks offers the course as a part of their job placement initiative, but it is open to anyone interested, reported the Dallas Morning News.
