The 15th annual Schmidt & Jones Awards, which honor high school musical theatre performers in the DFW area, honored North Texas Performing Arts Conservatory actor Sean Foreman with the Best Actor award for his role of Man in Chair in The Drowsy Chaperone.

A panel of judges consisting of theatre educators and professional theatre artist viewed 21 productions of accepted applicants from schools in Dallas, Tarrant and Collin counties, made nominations and voted to determine winners. The award ceremony was presented by Lyric Stage, a not-for-profit professional musical theatre company in West Dallas.
Forman received a $500 scholarship with his award. The cast and crew of The Drowsy Chaperone were also nominated for Best Show, Best Ensemble, Best Orchestra, Best Lighting Design, Best Costume Design, Best Actress (Samantha Stratton, Piper Harp), Best Actor (Andrew Meche, Sean Forman), Best Actress in a Minor Role (Alexa Taylor, Kate Blair) and Best Supporting Actor (Maxwell Berner).
