“Wizard of Oz” comes to the Boardwalk this Friday

The yellow brick road leads to The BoardWalk at Granite Park this Friday. Dorothy, Toto and all those good and wicked witches will take center stage when “The Wizard of Oz” is shown outside the pavilion from 8:30 to 10:30 July 16.

There is no admission fee, and tickets are not required. Mom and dad will also be able to enjoy to-go drinks from various restaurants on the Boardwalk.

The “Wizard of Oz” is the second installment of the Boardwalk’s summer flashback film series. Last month the 1970 classic “Grease” was shown under the stars.

Retro movies are just one of several special summer events scheduled at the Boardwalk this month.  The Summer Bod Saturday session continues with Session Pilates from 10 to 11 a.m. this Saturday, and Yoga Factory at the same time July 24. Farmers’ markets are scheduled on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will also be several upcoming live music performances.

This won’t be the last big screen event at the Boardwalk this summer. Sister Act 2 is slated to play Aug. 10.
