This week, a Plano Raising Cane’s gained a celebrity temporary employee: Jake Connelly.

Connelly is known for his recent role as Derek Turnbow (or Delightful Derek) in the Netflix series Stranger Things.

Fresh off his breakout role in Stranger Things Season 5, Jake Connelly clocked in for a high-energy “shift” at Raising Cane’s in Plano, serving Box Combos and surprising hundreds of cheering fans alongside owner and founder Todd Graves. Photo courtesy of Raising Cane’s.

“Fighting monsters in the Upside Down was hard, but I think serving hungry fans is harder!” Connelly said. “My family has always loved Raising Cane’s since it opened near our hometown in Chicago, so being here with Todd for my first brand deal has been really fun.”

On Tuesday, he joined Raising Cane’s owner and founder Todd Graves to shoot ad content, learn what it takes to be a Cane’s employee and serve up some tenders.

“My family and I are huge fans of Stranger Things, especially Season 5 with Jake,” Graves said. “He’s an incredible young actor who’s just getting started. Jake is chasing his dream just like I chased mine of opening a Chicken Finger Restaurant. We’re proud to be part of his journey and excited for what’s ahead.”
